Conclusion
The relationship that existed between monarchical authority and the validos was one of symbiosis. The kings garnished the validos with nearly unrivaled power and wealth in exchange for an improvement in management and a person they could truly trust. The ability of the validos to organize and work the social webs of favors and connections gave them a level of power and control almost on par with the king himself. Regardless of their apparent lust for more and more power, the validos loyally worked for the king and for Spain as a whole.
